Pastor Mike Nodland was raised on a farm near Clarion, IA; and later his family moved to Des Moines, IA where he graduated from North High School, Grand View College and Iowa State University where he met his future wife to whom he has been married for over 40 years.
Following graduation from Iowa State, he and his wife moved to Minnetonka, MN, and began attending Minnetonka Community Church where on March 6, 1975, he trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior and later that spring, surrendered his life to the call of ministry and began attending seminary in the fall of the same year. He was baptized and ordained into the ministry several years later.
After graduating from Bethel Seminary, Arden Hills, MN, he served in a variety of pastoral positions in city and rural churches in Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, and Kansas.
Prior to coming to Christian Union Church in Milo, Iowa, he was a state licensed addiction counselor for over 10 years in correctional facilities in Iowa and Kansas. While in Kansas, God led him and his family to join in a struggling church in Kansas and under the leadership of Bro. Dave Noffsinger, the church grew from 20 to over 175 in less than 5 years, with occasional peaks of 200 in attendance.
Mike became the pastor at Christian Union Church in Milo, IA in September, 2013.
